Congratulations to Ivan Alekseyevich Makarov on the successful defense of his Candidate of Sciences dissertation!

October 5, 2026 Research Assistantat I.A. Makarov defended his thesis titled "Basic Socio-Economic Indices and Their Relationship with the Quality of Public Administration."

Following the defense, the dissertation council recommended awarding Ivan Alekseevich the academic degree of Candidate of Sciences in the field of public and municipal administration.

 One of the key problems addressed in the paper is the multicollinearity of existing indices of public administration quality, which causes various indicators to reflect similar information. To address this, the concept of «key» indices, identified using the principal component analysis method, is proposed. This approach makes it possible to improve the quality of quantitative analysis and reduce the redundancy of the indicators used.

 Another significant result of the study is the concept of indicative «risk corridors», which makes it possible to assess the overall levels of risks faced by the objects under study and to identify areas requiring managerial attention. The developed toolkit can be used to identify priority areas for the socioeconomic development of territories, to implement management measures, and to select appropriate target indicators of state policy. The possibilities of its application are demonstrated using the example of the Republic of Tuva.

 We wish Ivan Alekseevich further development of research projects, new substantive tasks, significant scientific results, and successful application of the developed tools in management practice.
